We
are pleased to have received your application from the American
Medical College Application Service.
This
page briefly explains the process at our School of Medicine
so that you will understand the actions that will occur for
your file. Once you login to My
Application Status, you will be able to check the actions
taken by our committee on your file.
Applications
are received in the Admissions Office and reviewed by a sub-committee.
Decisions are made at that point as to which candidates will
receive a supplemental application from us. It has always
been our committee's policy to send supplemental applications
only to those candidates who are deemed competitive within
our applicant pool. To assist you in understanding this decision
process, we receive about 5,000 applications and send supplementals
to only about 2,600 candidates. The decision to send a supplemental
is based on a full review of the file which includes grades,
MCATs, essays, extra-curricular activities and health care
experience.
Please
remember that this electronic application is NOT active until
we have requested that you complete the supplemental. Therefore,
DO NOT send any additional materials until after you receive
that request. This includes letters of recommendation, transcripts
and other additional materials for the file.
